Sergio Key, born in Kiev, Ukraine and currently residing in Toronto, Canada’s clubbing capital. Key has not only established himself as an emerging world class D.J. but also as a prominent radio personality. Following in his father’s footsteps, at a young age of six he began studying piano at the Kiev Conservatory of Music.

At the age of 14 Sergio started his DJ career. Using PC based DJ programs and analog equipment, Sergio chose to bring a laptop,
cd players and a midi controller instead of the more traditional, at the time, record case. The digital technology gave Sergio the ability to manipulate his mixes in ways that were not possible with just a Technics 1200; quickly catapulting him into the spotlight at such prestigious local Toronto Venues as: Sound Academy (Docks), LOT332 and Housexy. Sergio also headlined The New Talent stage at Destiny Production’s World Electronic Music Festival 2007.

Key is a very versatile DJ. He is able to read the crowd and knows how to program the music catering it to a particular demographic.  The DJ talent that Sergio possesses has given him a chance to play alongside some of the world’s most recognized artists including: DJ Preach, Adam Sheridan, Mark EG, Hatiras, Jelo, MSTRKRFT and Pendulum.

After graduating from Seneca’s Business Administration program, Sergio landed a position in radio, playing a key role in establishing Toronto’s Dance Music radio station, branded as Energy Radio CHOQ 105.1FM. At Energy Radio he held a position of a Brand Manager. There Sergio learned the workings of radio.
He had hands-on experience creating sales packages and setting up unique promotional events. Sergio also learned how to write scripts for radio,  as well as produce different elements such as live shows, live to airs, commercials, IDs, and PSAs. This is also the place where Sergio learned the fundamentals of music programming.
