Music at Night 015 w/ Nunzi (Monday July 25)

Hailing from Brooklyn (NYC), Nunzi grew up in one of the most influential cities and culturally inspiring environments in North America. While growing up he was exposed to music at a young age, learning to play both the drums and piano, which developed a keen sense of rhythms and nua…nces found in his music today. Nunzi’s production and DJing style is hard to be described – powerful groovy and hard-hitting rhythms stemming from tech-house and techno, infused with ambient and deep textures. Although only 22 years old, his production work and techniques show skill equal or greater to those who are house hold names in electronic music.

No matter which style of House, Nunzi brings a style and sound that breaks away from the generic into a truly unique experience for both music enthusiasts and DJ/ producers alike. Nunzi’s works can be found in record bags of artists all over the world, getting support from greats such as Danny Tenaglia,

Music at Night 014 w/ Matt Herdman (Monday June 27)

Inspired by artists such as Richie Hawtin, John Acquaviva, Dubfire and Oliver Huntemann, Matt began gaining confidence in his production as he incorporated it more often into his live sets. Interested to know how his work was measuring up to his influences, he sought one out at a local show. Living a short distance away in nearby London, Ontario, John Acquaviva had become a natural barometer for Matt’s progress as an electronic artist. Thus, when Matt slipped John a CD of some of his recent work, it undoubtedly became a pivotal turning point in his career. Impressed by what he heard, John soon asked Matt for additional tracks and signed his first work to one of the most credible electronic music labels in the industry, Definitive Records. With the initial release reaching the Top 100 Chart on the industry’s leading digital download website,, and being licensed to RockStar Games’ “Midnight Club Los Angeles” Matt knew this was no longer the “hobby” it started out to be.

Music at Night 013 (1 year anniversary show) w/ Subfractal (Monday May 23)

This is a very special edition of Music at Night as we will be celebrating the 1 year anniversary of the shows launch on Digitally Imported. Since we have been on the air we have averaged 500+ listeners both local and international. We also had our very first evet in October called Music at Night LIVE where Daniel Burton, Ovi M, SUBFRACTAL and I tore up Lily lounge in Toronto. It was an amazing experience and I hope to host another event sometime in the near future

Its been a wild ride and I cant wait to see what the next year will bring.

First off I would like to thank all the amazing djs and producers who have given their time and talent: Subfractal, Ovi M, Damian Definite, Glitter, Daniel Burton, Mike Conradi, Cam Maxwell, D-Unity, Kotov and Andre Wilde, and Anthony D’Amico.

Secondly a big thank you to Digitally Imported for giving me an outlet to showcase my blend of techno and tech house. Finally and most important I must thank all the supporters and everyone who has tuned in and downloaded the sets over the past 12 months. I produced this show for fans of electronic music, thank you from the bottom of my heart.

In an age of short attention spans and constant media bombardment, Subfractal have unquestionably cemented their position as powerful techno tastemakers. Growing up in Karachi, Pakistan, Fahad Ahmad and Syed Mishaal Raza, like so many others, aspired to follow in the footsteps of legends like Lawler, Tenaglia and Tong. However, Fahad and Syed didn’t cross paths until 2006 after they’d both moved to Canada, where the burgeoning electronic music scene and a common love of techno brought them together. After collaborating on a handful of projects, the musical chemistry between the duo became evident, and Subfractal was born.

Music at Night 011 w/ Anthony D’Amico (Monday March 28)

Growing up in Toronto, Canada, Anthony had always known that music would play a major role in his life. From an early age, he discovered that it was his passion and that his only option was to pursue a career within it. When he was offered an internship by legendary Toronto DJs, Peter and Tyrone at 83 West & Camouflauge Recordings, he got his first real look into the world of DJing/Producing and thus set the foundation for his future. Recently he has been seen in the studio working on producing his own original material. Along with collaborating with other artists and making solo records, Anthony is set to make producing his main focus of 2010. As quoted recently, he says “its almost inevitable that after spinning records for all these years, that I naturally wanted to start creating music of my own”.

Music at Night 010 w/ Kotov and Andre Wilde (February 28th)

With a relentless dedication they soon produced many great tracks within a year and now publish with numerous music labels across the world, including Blu Music (Canada), Rawthentic Music (Canada), Incorrect Music (US), Teggno (US), CTS Records (Ukraine) and 4PlayTrax (Canada).

Having as much fun as the audiences they ignited, Kotov and Wilde clocked up unforgettable performances playing alongside Green Velvet, Honey Dijon, Max Graham, Alex Kenji, Misstress Barbara, John Dahlback, Donald Glaude and many more industry’s best artists.

With more releases in the pipeline, and the phone constantly ringing for new book- ings, the only thing Kotov and Wilde cannot generate in the next year is indifference. Catch them soon and discover new energy and enthusiasm.

Music at Night 009 w/CAM MAXWELL (Monday January 24)

Thanks for tuning in to the Music at Night year mix. It was a good year for techno music, especially from Canadian talent. Guys like Subfractal, Nick Cenik, Carlo Lio, and Kotov and Wilde have seen huge success with their quaity tracks being released. I look forward to hearing what they come up with in 2011.

This months guest is Cam Maxwell

Cam Maxwell has been involved with the electronic dance music scene for over a decade in the Toronto region.  Cam has the unique talent of being able to play to any crowd.  Whether he’s playing electro, tribal, techno, or tech-house, Cam’s style and sound is distinct.  His unique blend of powerful house genres and the vocals he commonly mixes in, sets Cam apart in his music and always gets the dancefloor moving.  His ability to control and understand the mood of the crowd has allowed him to connect to the dancefloor in a way that has quickly made Cam one of Toronto’s favorite DJ’s.
