Eric has been an avid electronic music lover and DJ enthusiast since he was 15 years old. Despite not growing up with any classical music or instrument training, he has always had a passion for mixing. Early experiments with Fruity Loops and Mixmeister helped him to learn the bare bones basics of putting music together, before exposure to the Toronto nightlife later on in his mid-twenties stoked the fire for taking the steps to becoming a DJ.
After a short stint working as a promoter for Toronto’s Footwork nightclub, he fell in love with the techno and tech-house sounds and artists the club had become all too familiar for. Purchasing his first piece of equipment in 2013, Eric quickly began practicing and crafting his technique. Mostly known for playing at private parties (with a few brief stops at locales such as Lil’y Lounge, The Stirling Room and Harlem Underground), he now aims to expand further into the club community with his unique take on techno and tech house.
Eric remains an active and driven participant in the community, having launched a small local promotions and events company in 2014 under the moniker of Ongaku Entertainment. Since then, the company has worked with a number of artists including Bart Skils, D-Unity, Weska and Guyus Grey. The fledgling promotions outfit is currently focused on supporting new, local talent while expanding an ever growing roster of DJs in 2016.
Currently residing in Hamilton after moving from Toronto in late 2015, Eric hopes to extend his reach not only throughout the GTA, but also to his newfound local community that is maturing at a very fast pace.
